Expect honest features, music reviews and tips on new artists to watch out for. If it’s grime, afropop/afrobeats, hip hop or the occasional R&B, then Verbal Vixen’s got you covered. About Verbal Vixen
Verbal Vixen is a seasoned industry insider who’s not short of an opinion or two. She is a freelance content strategist, music consultant and journalist. Verbal Vixen has been blogging about her passion for music since 2008 and engaging an audience of urban music lovers across the world with her honest, straight-to-the-point style.
Verbal Vixen has served as an interim Editor and then Online Content & PR Manager for GRM Daily, the UK’s biggest urban music site. In 2011, she launched the first Afrobeats column on MTV UK. She contributes to various publications including iconic hip hop site, Complex UK, and has also written for MTV Iggy and OK! Nigeria. In 2013, she joined Bang Radio (now Beat FM London) as a producer and co-host on the JamJam Afrobeats Show alongside the legendary DJ JamJam. To date, she has worked with everyone from Kendrick Lamar, Wretch 32 and Ed Sheeran to Wizkid, D’Banj, Iyanya, Davido and more. Verbal Vixen is a self-confessed music obsessive and loves discovering new artists, going to gigs, and um, brunch. You can watch all her adventures too.
